Can I add a Main Menu item for our club newsletter? I'd like to post them for public view without burying them in the Public Downloads. I've attached a sample.

Thanks

Thank you. I was able to create the menu item on the Main Menu and add one of the newsletters to the new custom page I created. I tried adding a second newsletter pdf, but only one appears when I click on the Newsletter link. It downloads and then I have to click on the download to open the pdf. Is there a way to include more than one file and have a list appear when you click on the Main Menu item?

I'm sorry I neglected to give you our Club website address on my first message:

You'll have to add the rest of the details (web page name etc.) at the bottom of the custom page form - see this document : support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/custom-pages

In the editor section add your text e.g.:
 • Newsletter 1
 • Newsletter 2......
Highlight the words you want the user to click to open the newsletter. Now click on the link icon (chain), and paste the URL for the newsletter in the box.

This is probably the easiest way to achieve what you want.

Thanks Pam. I had uploaded the newsletters to the Public Downloads when I created the Custom Page. I copied the link to the PDF file at that location, e.g., dbedtforbusiness.toastmastersclubs.org/j...sletter_07-12-16.pdf.

When I tried to SAVE, I got this message:

You have errors in your form below. Please scroll down and correct the following:
If entering a Custom Link, what you have entered in the content area is not a valid URL/address.

I'm not sure what to try next.

Aloha, Liz

To get the URL for a document in the File Manager, click on the icon to the left of the item in File Manager. The URL will be displayed in the bottom line of the window that pops up. Copy & paste that to your Custom Page.

That's the URL that I was using. I created a list of the three newsletters I want to have available in the area labeled: Your Web Page Content / or Link URL. Is that the editor section you mentioned? I highlighted each item, clicked on the button to create a link, and pasted the URL address for each newsletter from the File Manager.

I still got the message: You have errors in your form below. Please scroll down and correct the following:
If entering a Custom Link, what you have entered in the content area is not a valid URL/address.

I tried putting just the URLs and that was saved, but that took me back to only getting one of the PDFs to download when I clicked on the Club Newsletter item in the Main Menu.

Regarding your earlier instructions to complete the boxes on the custom page form, I'm a bit confused. The instruction page says to leave several of them blank if you're creating a link. I must be missing something here. Also, I'm not sure what the Web Page Name is. When I have the Club Newsletter custom page form open, there is no URL. When I tried right clicking on the Club Newsletter menu item, and selecting Copy Link Address, I got the URL for one of the newsletter PDFs.

NEW COMMENT: I completed the boxes in the form using "clubnewsletter.html" for the Web Page Name. After that, I tried listing the newsletters again and adding the links from the File Manager and it worked this time, but when I clicked on the Club Newsletter button on the Main Menu, I still get only the last pdf downloaded. It seems like there should be a way to get the list to appear.

As you may have discerned, I'm a novice at this and find some of the written instructions confusing. I'll keep trying.

Can you see our website?

Success! You've done it!

I clicked on the Club Newsletter icon on your menu, and I see your page with the links to two newsletters. I think you're on the right track.

Hopefully you're seeing the same as me now - but if not, try closing your browser down completely and then reopen it.
