I log in as Site admin. We do have old role report stored in excel format. I am able to download to my desktop and update the report to the excel spreadsheet. I do not find any option anywhere to upload the role report. I am seeking for guideline.

Role reports are output only.

If you need to change the underlying data, then you need to look for the agenda that corresponds to the date of the data and update that agenda. Then the role report should reflect the change.

Well, you could upload them to the file manager in the Admin Console, but that is it.

See attached file. I do not see the file Manager under the Launch Admin Console anywhere in the Website. Does that mean the admin log in who has full control can be the only one can upload the role reports to the file Management.

Click Select a Module drop down.

I have found out there is a 5 Meg file limit size per file. I cannot upload my report excel file because the size of the file is 25 KB. Any suggestion?

5 Meg is *much larger* than 25 KB.

You will be fine.

After uploading the file you need to press the "save" or "refresh" button before attempting to download it again. The image shows your file size as 0KB , which suggests the upload and save process hadn't completed, hence the error message you saw.

I do not successful to open the file with the new report list. Please read and advice. Thank you...

Ok, there is something funny going on in Chrome, but the link you get in the download dialog works fine in Internet Explorer.

So this seems to be something browser specific. (Pam can you also confirm?)

I have only checked Chrome and Internet Explorer currently. Which browser are you using?

I can open the link from the post below (IE & Edge), and I managed to copy the link into a Word document and open it from there once, but not again. I have a feeling it might be something to do with the excel file not being closed correctly rather than a browser issue

What is after path= should be the xls filename.

I don't see that in Edge.

I seem to recall that there was an issue with reusing file names - could this be a hangover from that if there was a previous file with the same name.

mfung - would you mind uploading the same file again, but before you upload it change the name to TestRoleReport and let us know what happens - that might help Steve figure out what is causing the problem.

Something that may be a bit confusing is that when the role report is created as an Excel file it is not directly available to you as a file unless you use the role report function in the agenda module. The Excel file is created as a hidden file in the same folder containing your file manager files.

Specifically, the following code skips files named rolereport.xls, signupsheet.xls, and duesinfo.txt in the file listings ... (Although the last one is obsolete.)
If you intend to keep role reports in the file manager, make sure that you rename them to something that will not be hidden from you.

I realize that this may seem a bit odd, but it is how it was originally designed. I will be changing it in the next system update.

I am using Internet Explorer and trying to use the report function in the agenda module. I intend to keep role reports in the file manager, and renamed the file "rolereport1". I aware of the file was hidden from me when the excel file download is larger than 5KB. I am not sure what you mean to changing it in the next system update. Do I need to wait until you complete update and retry later on to run/download the role report again. Please let me know.
