I tried last night, and again today, to change the admin password through the admin console. Nothing changes- the old password continues to work.

Thank you. I take it that the password reset function in the console does not work, and that I cannot set it to a password of my choice.

You can reset your password but you need to follow the rules.

Alpha upper and lower case

and special characters

Here are the rules copied from the reset section:

"Passwords must be at least 6 characters in length and contain both letters and numbers, and no non-alphanumeric characters."

It says nothing about upper and lower case. Lo and behold, I do add upper case and it works. (which is puzzling- keep reading as to why)

Just for fun, I decided to try again. It accepted a password with no upper case. It's possible last night and earlier today I made a mistake entering my password (without any upper case letters) four times - it's unusual for me to make those kinds of repeated errors, but I have done so in the past and may have again. Also, I didn't realize that I had to scroll down to see that the password box goes to red when there's a mistake (at least some mistakes-I've only seen the error for one).So because the the box scrolled up after I entered the password, I wouldn't have seen any error indication- everything looked ok, so I clicked save. And the password didn't change.

Regardless, I now have a new password entered, and I know that it doesn't require upper case.

Thank you for your help.
