You can now indicate that selected meeting roles should be ignored in historical role reports. See here:

The most obvious use of this is to keep "placeholder roles"/"psuedo-roles" from cluttering up role reports.

For example, my club has a couple of Backup Speaker roles on our agendas. They are just there to enable members to request first consideration for speaker slots if a scheduled speaker backs out of doing their speech. These Backup Speaker roles are not printed on our printed agenda, and there is no Toastmaster credit or special considerations for taking a Backup Speaker role. Therefore, it makes sense to also ignore these "psuedo-roles" in role history reports. This new feature allows these roles to be filtered out of role history reports.

Another example: "Will not attend" roles that people put on their agendas.

Also nice for those special occasion roles like Chief Judge.

Thank you for adding this option. Our club has Guest Speakers occasionally and this will be useful documenting the agenda without enlarging the historical role report.

Ok, I have realized that I forgot to add an indicator icon for this to show in each row (if set) of the agenda editor dialog. It is a very easy thing to add. (For example, I added the pencil icon to indicate that a role can edit the agenda.)

Here is the large set of icons I have to choose from: fontawesome.io/icons/
(These are the icons I use and Font Awesome is very popular.)

Keeping in mind that I use the little man icon for the Role History button in the agenda toolbar, I thought of using a Font Awesome feature that would let me stack two icons... in this case a red circle w/ slash over the little man icon to indicate "No Role History" in hopes that would be intuitive enough. (?)

However, we are already using the little man icon in the agenda editor to indicate which roles are sign-up roles. So maybe change that icon to something else, like a checkbox icon to indicate that a role is a sign-up role? (I am not sure)

This is an opportunity for users to express their opinions... any thoughts?

I like the "hand-o-up" icon (under hand icons) for sign up roles (put your hand up for the role)

How about the "minus circle" under web-application icons for the "no role history" option. It looks like a no entry sign which is what should be implied (no history entry?), although a little man with a red slash is probably more intuitive

You can click on the icons on the font awesome page to see a larger view...

Ok, here is hand-o-up fontawesome.io/icon/hand-o-up/ Looks like pointing to me.
Here is hand-paper-o fontawesome.io/icon/hand-paper-o/ Looks like holding hand up... is this what you meant?
I like your idea about holding ones hand up. B)

Looked at minus circle fontawesome.io/icon/minus-circle/ Looks kind of ambiguous to me. :?

I meant the former - the latter looks like "stop" to me - but either would do.

Now you have me puzzling over how I raise my hand. I think it is the full hand for voting at meetings, but the pointed finger when volunteering

Ok, lets let some others chime in a bit, then while you are figuring out how you hold your hand up. :P

Ok, so if we use the hand up icon that will take care of indicating a sign-up role:

I think the following could work for the no-history one: fontawesome.io/icon/user-times/

The stacked icons are just too big and stand out too much:

Any thoughts anyone?

I agree with Steve's last post:

fa-hand-o-up yes
fa-user-times yes

the stacked icons with color is getting messy

The new fa icons will make it clearer for members and agenda editors/creators, in my opinion.
