I've noticed that everyone has Role change notifications enabled. This seems redundant. Is there a way to assign only certain people (like President, VPE and Toastmaster) to receive these? The message under this selection in the member profile isn't clear. "NOTE: Some types of notifications may not be sent to all members all the time. For example, Role Change Notifications may only be sent to members in key meeting roles."

In the Meeting Agenda Global Settings, I have just the VPE and Toastmaster receiving these changes. Why then does each member profile have this option?

It is the same for Quest 4643 and Valencia 1670

Each member needs to have a way to turn them off for themselves. It is an override.

I have stopped getting notifications altogether in the past week or so. I am the webmaster and VPE. I have VPE, Secretary and TMoD as the people that get the notifications in the Agenda Settings screen. Based on this email I made sure that I have these enabled in my personal profile but I'm still not getting them.

Also, are they turned on by default or off? I don't want to bombard members with emails that don't involve them.

They are on by default.

However, I have realized that i need to revisit this whole area... it is just too confusing, and the likelihood of problems from this confusion is higher than normal.

I am thinking of redoing it as "Disabled Email Features" (flip the logic) and just bundle the Officer Email Address into it, also.

The whole goal was to give members a way to disable email features that they did not want, but I got a bit caught up in semantics, trying to avoid double negatives in the verbiage, so I termed it Enabled instead, with a set of things enabled... As they say, the road to h*ll is paved with good intentions. ;)

Sounds like you think a lot like I do. I'm always Devil's advocating everything. Maybe that's why it's the road to hell.
