What is your club number?

Who is trying to update the agenda? Are you editing the agenda or is a member trying to update his/her speech details?

Which agenda is causing problems (date?)

We are experiencing the same problem.

Club Number: 665159
Website: advancingtm.toastmastersclubs.org

We have three agendas created and seem to be having the problem on all three dates
Today's meeting 12/3/2016 (edits attempted before the meeting).
  • The VPE logged in as himself is able to edit the agenda; he gets the pencil.
  • The TMOD logged in as a member was NOT able to edit the agenda; did not get the pencil
  • Members were not able to remove themselves using the X or sign up using the button.
We are seeing the same behavior on agenda dated 12/17/2016, 1/7/2017 and 1/21/2017.

Note: I may need to go in and edit my regular meeting template to set edit flag for TMOD and others we want to be able to edit the agenda, but the X to remove and button to add is not a configurable field.

This problem was noted this week after the agenda updates.

Just tell everyone having an issue to click the reload link at the bottom of the screen once the agenda screen is showing.

*** You need to make sure that the agenda screen is showing to make sure that the reload affects the resources and scripts that that agenda uses. (As opposed to what is needed for the home screen.)

Reloading the page resolves the signup button; but not the X remove member from the agenda.
This feature does not work for the site admin, VPE, TMOD, or the member.

The TMOD was able to edit agenda's by default; i now have to enable the option to allow this roll to edit the agenda. I can fix this in the templates to resolve that problem.

Will the page always need a manual refresh or are you working to resolve the behavior to refresh automatically?
Also, have you been able to replicate the X remove issue that we are seeing? if yes, when might we expect a fix for this?

Karen, your browser is blocking the automatic update mechanism that works fine for the vast majority of other clubs and districts. Therefore, if I make an update, then you make need to click the reload link.

I do not know why your browser is blocking the updates. A cache reset mechanism is in place but perhaps your browser is ignoring it.

If this was only happening to me, or from one computer I might agree it was my browser. However, none of my members have been able to remove themselves from the agenda using the X.

We have tried it from both a Windows PC using chrome, IE, and firefox; and a MacBook running safari, we also trued it from an android phone. All with the same results. The X flashes on the screen but the assignment stays. The only way to remove someone is to edit the agenda and clear the role.

If this is the browser, what settings are needed to make it work? Which Operating System? Which browser?
It could be something with our site, is there any way for you to be on our site as a member to check it out?

I just logged in as you on your website as a regular member login. I loaded the 1/7/17 agenda, removed you from Speaker 1 without any issues using the X link, put you back in speaker 1 using the Sign up button, and I signed you up for Timer on the following meeting's agenda and removed you in the same manner.

All using the exact same JavaScript, HTML, and other code that you are using. :whistle:

So, as they say in the software development biz, "WFM"... works for me.

My advice, try on a different computer as a test. If you can tell me *exactly* what you are doing to produce the issue and/or provide appropriate back up such as screen shots, JavaScript error messages, etc. then I may have a something to go on. Right now, I have nothing to go on as a path forward. And... I am the main developer and "fixer in chief"... so if you still think there is an issue, then you need to pitch in to help me get to the root cause to get it fixed.

I am not trying to be difficult, but to my eyes, there is not yet an issue that I can substantiate on our end.

We're getting the same problem on our site (club #6348). It was first noticed by one of our members on 12/2/16, though I can't say that it didn't originate before that time. I also don't know if it is working for some of our members and not others, but I get the same problem. I am my club's VPE and have access to the extended controls for the meeting, the member that originally noticed the issue did not. I have not extensively tested it with different browsers/machines. I did try the 'reload from server' button with the same results as justmeetc.

I did check the network traffic, and after clicking on the 'x' to remove myself from a role, I get either no response or (usually) a 500 Internal Server Error with the following response:

Software error:

Undefined subroutine &main::MtgInNextNMtgs_MeetingDB called at /var/www/cgi-bin/agenda_db.pl line 339.
For help, please send mail to the webmaster (root@localhost), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.


and the corresponding error in the console:

It is working for me using Safari on a MacBook. I had one other member test on a droid with success, and yet another with an internet explorer on Windows 7. So far, everyone is working. I haven't checked yet in Chrome but can if needed.

I am glad that someone else was able to get you an error message that allowed you to fix this. The ones that cannot be replicated are the hardest to resolve. Thanks for your persistence.
