I have a similar question that does not appear to be answered here.

I am setting up a Twitter account using the VP PR email address, so that it can be used by successive officers in the position. Using my personal email for social media accounts is not an option.

However, the email confirmation that Twitter sends out upon account setup is not reaching me, even though I receive normal email communications sent to the VPPR email address (ie. regular emails are forwarded to my personal email without problem). I tried "whitelisting" all @twitter.com email addresses but that didn't solve the problem.

Is there a spam filter or something that is preventing the twitter emails from flowing through the toasthost email system?

I think that is a Twitter problem, because I set up an account too...

And Linda, I've had no problem setting up other Twitter accounts - the confirmation emails come through just fine. Did you receive an email from twitter with a confirmation link to your toastmasters email?

check for a typo in the email address put in twitter.... (common mistake)

Yes, triple-checked the email address is correct on the twitter account,
and reduced the spam-assassin setting the least aggressive setting (7),
and when I send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. it is forwarded to my personal email within seconds,
but I've clicked Resend Confirmation about a dozen times on twitter and still nothing coming though.

Ok, is the vppr address the address that is actually in Twitter?

Yes, the vppr address is what I set the twitter account up with and I've triple-checked it is typed correctly.

Please do me a favor... change the email on the twitter account to your regular email address, then send the confirm email to yourself.

Look at what the from address is that Twitter is sending from... post that here.

Then you can change the email on the twitter account back to the vppr address.

Right now, it looks like no email ever came from Twitter to us in the last 5 weeks, per the FTH email logs. However, to search the system email logs (we have 2 types of email logs), I need the actual Twitter from address.

Ok I changed it to my personal email and received the confirmation email from Twitter <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.>
Then I changed it back to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and have received no confirmation email.

Not seeing anything in our email logs for that address... we never got anything from that address.

Ok, the root of this problem is that your DNS settings are not set up correctly for you to use email with your custom domain. Whoever set up your custom domain did not do it properly. You are missing an A record for mail. (Brian can coach through getting that resolved.)

This is another example of why I never recommend using the custom domain versions of email addresses in external services...

My suggestion would be to try This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. instead for the Twitter account. That should work regardless of custom domain or website alias or whatever.
