1) Please post your club number in every post.

2) Are you talking about being a club executive or not? Then please read the documentation on this site

Hi, just updated our way outdated membership list. To DELETE, just click on the check boxes and there's a pull-down menu above the list of names for deleting. You can see all the names before deleting. I did a few at a time.

I didn't create a new "group" of old members or prospects because I didn't know who anyone was. The list was more than 2 years old.

For updating officers roles, you just use the pull-down menu next to their email address. You can pick more than one. For example, we had one person be VP Membership and VP Education.

I wasn't on the list so it took me a few tries to figure out there's a really small line at the top of the list for NEW people. Type your name, email and just click on SAVE button at the bottom. Once you SAVE, you will see the name and now you can use the pull down menu to assign an officer position.

It's tedious, I worked from a roster I keep as a text (Notepad) file for emailing our small membership. So it was copying and pasting.

We will not be using our website for communicating to members, but I wanted to set everything up "just in case".

Hope that helps!

If you had the information in a Notepad file, you could probably have done *one* copy and paste into the Quick Add tab to add everyone at once.

Quick Add is intended for "bulk adds".

The single NEW lines are for occasional adds of one or two people.

This is all explained in our online docs.

As far as...

We will not be using our website for communicating to members, but I wanted to set everything up "just in case".

It is certainly your prerogative to increase your labor by not getting familiar with the features provided by FreeToastHost. ;)

In a nutshell... please review our online docs as Brian is pointing out.

I appreciate everyone helping out. Quite frankly, there's just TOO MUCH information to go through as a volunteer. Only had to add 7 names. But yes, saw the quick add feature. I saw no one answered and wanted to at least add specifics in case they were still lost, instead of "go here and read" (grin).

As we are all volunteers (and Toastmasters) with responsibilities and commitments outside FreeToastHost, our ability to respond to forum posts will vary depending on what else we have going on in life.

We purposely point you to the docs as we intend those to be the definitive explanation of how to do things with the system. In our respective clubs, each of us may not use every feature... there is some differences between us in terms of our experience with the features. Therefore, if you are expecting each of us to be able to basically repeat what we have already taken great pains to carefully explain in the docs, then I think that is just TOO MUCH to ask for. We will jump in to fill in any gaps in the docs where appropriate, but we expect that if we have already put in a lot of work into the docs, that you at least make a good faith effort to use them or tell us how to make them more usable.

I meant no disrespect and apologize if I upset you or anyone here volunteering. I think I have stated my gratitude. If not, I'm thankful and appreciative. We all bring different experiences. If I take the time to post on any message board, forum or group I belong to...then it's because I truly need help. Or try to help others. Perhaps that should have been stated. Have a nice week everyone! Our club site has finally been updated after I got access this morning. Thanks for the free hosting and templates so that I could be done in a few hours and not have to go through traditional routes. S.
