I have many occasions when editing a page when I do not want the additional blank line after a c/r which seems to be editor default. I have searched these forums and FTH docs and also CKEditor docs. As far as I can see to do what I want needs the line CKEditor line height plug in ( ckeditor.com/addon/lineheight ). Do you have plans to include this in FTH upgrades? Can I install the plug in myself?

I had the same problem after I tried different ways, I found a way to do it, (see the attached). Highlight the lines you want closer, drop arrow in "FORMAT" and choose "NORMAL". I hope it works for you. Aida.

It is typical on the internet to add extra space between paragraphs. When you use the enter key, it is interpreted as the end of a paragraph by the editor. In other words, the editor decides how to convert the keys you press into the html you see. It may remind you of a word processor, but it really is not.

If you just want to break the line without signaling a new paragraph, just use shift+enter instead ... that inserts a <br/> code instead in the html, which is a line break code. (That is how the editor has defined it.)

I do have some control over how the editor works via its configuration settings. However, I have to be very careful how I make changes, since it affects all users of the system.

I will take a look at other plug-ins in the future.

Aida - thank you so much for this. I will try it soon. Steve the Techie has also come up with "use shift+enter instead ... that inserts a <br/> code instead in the html, which is a line break code." Both are good to know. Brian
