Hi,

The club I belong to (5930, Toast of the West, a Company club) was using Free Toast Host in the past, then stopped using it for awhile.

The current members don't remember who the Administrator was, and I'm now trying to figure out how to get assign a new Administrator and also get access to the Admin console for a couple of the current Officers.

What do I need to do, to edit the new site at 5930.toastmastersclubs.org ?
I tried filling out the Club Admin Change page, but the "Submit" button does not appear for me.

your FreeToastHost2 site was created today with you as the admin.

Check your junk folder for an authentication link.

I checked the junk folder, nothing there.

What are some of the words in the email message, so I can search for this message? (and the authentication-link)

Or, would it be possible to re-send that message?

I just sent a password reset.

Within the email, it will say

Mark C Determan

Here is your login key:

then a long link with your club number

Followed by:

Once in, click on "launch admin console", click on the "Administrator Info" tab, enter/change your password there, then click "Save".

Your FreeToastHost 2 website address is

5930.toastmastersclubs.org

Thanks!

The email has appeared.

I clicked on the "login key" link. And the page displayed.

But there is nothing on that page about "launch admin console" . (Internet Explorer 11)

Try clicking on another page like Club Calendar, then Home. See if you can see the launch button then.

If not scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen and click on the reload from server link.

Nogo, for IE11.

I switch to Chrome, and now I can see "Member Login" and "Login as site admin".

I tried "Login as site admin", then tried 5930 with a password. Maybe I used the wrong password, but the Admin Login failed.

Were you able to set the password in IE 11?

If not, you may need to resend the link and copy it into Chrome, instead of clicking on it.

Thanks!!

I gave up on IE11 for FTH2. In Chrome, I did a "Forgotten Password" then after resetting that I logged out.

Then I was able to login again using Chrome, with the latest password for 5930.

Have there been reported problems with Internet Explorer and Admin logins?

Not if your cookies are set properly. I use IE11 and I am the system developer.

OK. What I saw was that the "Logins" panel wasn't even rendered on the page.

That worked, the Logins panel is there now. Did you change something?

Maybe I'm repeating myself, but I was wrong and this still doesn't work for Internet Explorer. InternetExplorer does not show the Logins panel, and it also does not show the "Reload" link. I could maybe send you a jpg screen-capture.

Screen captures are always welcome.

Just click on the Add File button before you submit.

Here is a screenshot of InternetExplorer11 with the missing panels circled in red.

And, the "Page Source". And the Version Information for my version of Internet Explorer 11.

Do I need to do something with the Cookie settings? I can't see why cookie-settings would block this html from being displayed.

I am not seeing an issue on my end in IE11. Page loads fine.

Please do me a favor and press the F12 key, then clear your cache (support.toastmastersclubs.org/component/...earing-browser-cache), and then press F12 again to see if any errors show up in read in the Development Console.

Here's what I see as maybe an error. I've attached the full output from this console window.

Ok, so you need to turn off Compatibility View and reload your website.

You cannot run your website in Compatibility View... it will disable needed functionality.

Thanks, that explains it.

I'm not sure that I can turn that off -- I use my work machine for FTH2 access, and I think we have some apps that require Compatibility view.

Using Chrome is fine with me ... maybe this is something to add to the FAQ, though.

Thanks again!

I looked again, at the IE Options.

After I disabled the "Intranet" option for compatibility view, then the page displayed just fine.

If I need to use compatibility for other websites, then I can specifically add those websites to the "opt-in" compatibility list.

Most people do not run in Compatibility View. ;)
You can adjust its settings if you click on the gear icon (upper right)... you can selectively enable which websites run in Compatibility View.

Remember, I run IE11, and I use it to do development (on purpose), so if there are any issues I should expect to see them, also.
