I see that to use the generic "This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it." e-mail, it must first be enabled within the admin console. Until recently, I didn't realize it was possible to activate/inactivate this e-mail address. Instead, I thought it was always active (similar to the other club e-mail addresses).

My question is a simple one: is the ability to activate/inactivate this e-mail address a relatively new feature (i.e., within the last 6-9 months)?

The option was activated last November with the lastest upgrade of the FTH platform. All Admins were notified at login.

The option was added since we were starting to see a lot of spam to that email address, and I wanted to make sure that clubs had a way to disable the email address to eliminate the spam.
