Tony: Can you move to Miami? You are a gold mine in any club. How I wish someone like you in one of our clubs. I will keep your criteria. Thank you. Aida

You probably need to upload the photos to the flickrit website, so that you can create the slideshow and I am pretty sure that website will explain the process in using it... Give it a try..

You can use this to produce the iframe code for a slide show: flickrit.com/

I will try to use "flickrit" where can I find the easiest instructions so I can understand them? I always wanted to have a slide show, I believe the pictures don't have to be stored in the Website. Am I right? Aida.

Flickrit just produces the slideshow code, it does not store your photos. You need Flickr for that.

Steve, I don't know what is a "quick reply" but i'll try it,
Thank you for your response, I will keep the information. I will ask someone in Miami to help me! Now I know there is a difference in "flickrit" and "Flickr". Thank you for your time. Aida.

Flickr is a photo sharing service provided by Yahoo!. Much like some people will post details of their lives on Facebook and others for friends to see, Flickr is intended to be for photos to be shared with friends and/or the public.

When you create a Flickr account, it is really a Yahoo! account, and you upload photos there. The key is to organize the photos into sets/albums (a grouping technique) so that only the photos you want to show in your website slideshow are used. If you have photos that are duplicates or of poor quality, this gives you a way to filter them out.

Once you have set up the Flickr account, uploaded the photos, and organized them as you wish, then you just use Flickrit to produce the slide show code that you insert in your website via Source View in one of the page editors. When you produce the slide show code, you will have an opportunity to specify the set/album/group that you wish to use.

Steve, I don't know what is a "quick reply" but i'll try it,

Tip: Try QUOTE. It allows you to include the comment that you are replying to. (you can edit the other person's quoted comment to make it more concise, also) It helps a lot when you have multiple people who have posted in the same topic thread.

I gave Aida some "karma" for pointing out the redirection issue. Way to go!

As for the design, I agree with Steve and Linda. Assume the person visiting knows NOTHING of Toastmasters. Some times, this is the case. So, include a brief blurb of what the club DOES. What are the goals of the club, and many of it's individuals. The over all appearance is nice, but include an additional photo or two, plus, of course, more content.

The BEST thing so far, is you do not look like a "dead", generic site that has not been tended to.

On your facebook, you have a photo that was posted 3 times. I refreshed, and liked one, so I don't think it's a glitch on my end. I'm glad to see there has been more RECENT activity on it. Keep it up! I like the award photos, but you need some more "action" postings like a couple of years ago. I am always in favor of showing Toastmasters actually giving SPEECHES.

Your off to a good start. Just do a little bit more each month.

Karma is just a way for other users to indicate whether they are generally happy or unhappy with your posts. Adding karma (positive karma) generally means that people like your posts and are happy with what you have contributed to the discussion. Subtracting karma (less or negative karma) generally means that people are unhappy with what you have posted.

You are not alone... I really do not think that many people know what it is. ;)

Oops, there it went AGAIN! More karma for you, Aida. Worst case scenario, I hear it goes way with a shot of penicillin. :P

No, it's just my way of saying "thanks" for helping so many others. You're awesome!

Well, today has been my lucky day, sometimes I can't explain things very well, I do appreciate your words, and good Karma points. It is good to feel appreciated. You must be a motivational speaker! I thank you and everyone else in this thread for the help I got, Aida.
