Frankly, I would not have considered adding the variables support without having already added the email templates to provide re-usability.... now it makes much more sense.

Ok, so I thought about this, and unfortunately this seems a bit problematic to implement. For one thing, which role taken should be used for the replacement? The one that the recipient has taken? What if they have taken multiple roles or no roles?

So I changed the link styling for the response links so that the links in the last column of the emailed agenda look like buttons. I think this will make them stand out more and look much more distinctive from the "plain" emailed agenda.

You can already do that without response links. Why would I want to add functionality only to make it "dumbed down" and work the old way? If you do not want to use the new functionality, you do not have to.

That's a great question, I didn't think this ... we can put them separated by ",". I'm also thinking just the first role that appears but that wouldn't be the best solution

If you are actually using the response links option, then your email recipients are not touching your website. (That is the whole point of them.) You are either loading a very lightweight (but independent) web form or just firing off an email depending on how you have your profile setting. (either use MAILTO links or not for agenda email response links)

I think maybe there is a misunderstanding or miscommunication somewhere here. What you are describing does not align with what I would expect to see if using the response links option.

I am not against implementing something like this, but it needs to be done in a well-thought-out, non-confusing way. Sometimes what gets in the way of good ideas is just the logistics of actually implementing them in an effective way.

It appears that the response link for the web form flavor is not working on my end. The "mailto" flavor is however working. When I click on a response button I am taken to a screen which asks for a password and when the password is entered I get an error screen which is attached. I tried copying and pasting in to the editor but it didn't work. Please have a look.. Thanks.

I was getting that yesterday, but I thought I had that fixed as of last night.... wondering if browser caching is working against me.

Last week the agendas had the "confirm role" links underneath the roles when signed into the site. Now they've disappeared. How do I get them back?

Your question is not really related to this thread, but I added a master switch for that that is off by default... Go to Global Agenda Settings and enable it.

Unfortunately still doesnt work but a different error shows up "Invalid Password". My pw is correct because I went directly to the club's website and it worked there.

Hmm... can you walk me through exactly what you are doing and with what? Which meeting date, which action are you taking, etc.

Have you tried clearing your cache?

Also, please do me a favor and see if there are any javascript errors showing in red in the Developer's console with the response form up.... thx!

Here is what I am doing: (I am using an IMac computer with OS 10.11.1)

1. To test the system I open up my web site and send the email agenda to myself.
2. I log out of the website and go to my email client (Mail or Outlook)
3. I open up the email I just sent myself, select a role and click sign up button.
4, I am presented with a sign in page with my user name already filled in but no password.
5. I type in my password and voila - error message "Invalid Password"
6. I have not tried clearing my cache-never done that before but will do if it would help.

(Note when I use the normal way of signing in without email links it works - my password is already filled out)

Hmmm... that is odd. I have tried in multiple browsers without an issue. You can certainly try to reset your password, but you will not be able to do that from the web response form... you will have to do it from the website. The web response form is very limited in scope.

I still think you are probably going to need to clear your browser cache:
