I arranged with my domain registrar to point our custom URL taratoastmasters.org at the FTH DNS records, and put 'taratoastmasters.org' in the right hand box on the Basic Settings tab.

We had previously been using taratoastmasters.toastmastersclubs.org/

I pressed refresh but didn't see any message re status of change.

I decided to delete the entry in the left hand box.

At this point I got a message, do you want to reload from server? I said 'yes'.

But now our whole site appears to have disappeared? When I enter taratoastmasters.toastmastersclubs.org/ I get www.toastmastersclubs.org/welcome/

Can you help me recover it!

Update: it seems that problem has solved itself... When I enter taratoastmasters.org/ I am getting the FTH site no problem with all of our all content! I am relieved. The custom change I made has worked... (Conor, Club 3141)

Your site is still there. It's at 3141.toastmastersclubs.org

Whatever else you do to your domain names or aliases, the club number version will always work.

Edit: I see that you've got access to your site. I'll leave the above for future reference.

Incidentally, I think there may be something amiss with the MX record, and that will prevent you from getting email to your custom email addresses.

If you continue to the the members-3141 form, it should still work.

If you bought a domain, you would put that on the right hand side in the administration area and leave the left side empty.

Does not really matter... you can have both, actually.
