Hi there,

Free Toast Host is tops!!!

I was wondering if there's any differences between creating a club site and a district site. I've set up a number of club sites, but I was wondering if district sites have e.g. larger data storage, you can create more tabs etc.

Is it possible to 'test'/create a dummy site without it being live?

I'd appreciate any links to documentation on this subject.

Thanks for your help.

Darrell.

Actually, the district websites are feature subset of the club websites. (scaled down)

The do not include the dues or agenda modules, for example.

The focus is different/ The code is the same, it is just disabled in some ways for district websites.

I have considered implementing district specific functionality (e.g. generate club alignment chart and/or contest organizer feature), but there are many more club websites than district websites, so the club flavor gets the majority of my efforts and time.

Thanks Steve.

I know there's a limit of characters per page/text box (which is fine) :) . I'm thinking a district website may need dozens of forms, or theoretically up to a hundred that might be available for download. e.g. contest scripts, etc.

They would likely be pdf or word docs. Not very large. Would that number of downloadable forms cause a problem?

There are some advanced tricks that can be employed w/ FTH websites--not used so much w/ club websites, but are definitely used w/ district websites.

Oh, and finally, is there a site I can 'test' with or something to try out functionality?

Hey Steve,

I'm super impressed by those. I'll have a chat to our district leaders and see if we can consider using freetoasthost next year.

I do not think that Darrell is looking for a file repository.

Yes, certainly not a huge upload of files. I'm just thinking of e.g. 20 or 30 words/pdf documents that can be downloaded for contests etc.
