No, sorry, FreeToastHost is an integrated system. While you can choose not to use parts of FTH, it is not really designed to be combined with other content management systems. I am not saying it is impossible to do it, but the design of FTH does not explicitly support it.

Bonjour, Colleen!!

Even though FTH is its own complete system, it is possible to maintain two separate websites and link their pages together to appear to the user as a single site. If you peek at my club's site, you can see how we did this in a very rudimentary way to add a (non-Wordpress) separate mobile page, which simply appears as a mobile link in FTH. (We can see thru Google Analytics that adding this has decreased the number of mobile visitors who land on our FTH homepage and then immediately leave.)

Doing something like this with Wordpress would allow you to add the power of the vast array of Wordpress themes and plugins that are out there, and add a lot of versatility to your site. Some of the themes are also responsive to mobile users.

There is a down side...

There are a lot of helpful people here who take extra pains to help you out, all as volunteers, so they really care. Some, like Steve and Brian, have a lot of technical savvy, which would only be available to help you on problems in the FTH part of the site. My suggestion here sets you up to have a portion of your site where you're completely on your own, as far as troubleshooting problems goes. It's a plunge one would only make with caution. Yet many people operate Wordpress sites for other things (including myself) and to the mildly daring it offers great flexibility.

Take care...

Wes B.

Hi Steve and Wes,

Thank you for your ideas.
I like using FTH and the support provided.
The template, however, seems out of date (side bar on the side with items we cannot remove (Toastmasters video, public downloads, free resources, for example).

We want something cleaner and more appealing.
We were attracting many guests, but for some reason the contact submissions have dropped dramatically. The website must be our main attraction for members now as social media is turn off for some and MailChimp is another newsletter for the inbox dust bin.

We use FTH for the guest portal and articles.
We use easy-Speak for meeting management.

If you have any design ideas or referrals to another support department to help Toastmasters 75 please share.
Thanks so much, Colleen

Hi Colleen!!

Just FYI, each of the things you said you can't remove, in fact can be removed, in the appearance tab in the Admin Console. Hopefully, that might help a little bit with your appearance concerns.

I'm curious... I understand that you're in a major, major city, but your site's visitor count is absolutely remarkable. What are you doing to attract so many visitors to your site?

Take care...

Wes B.

Hello Wes,
Really? 14,000 is a lot? That is since September according to the bottom of our home page.
We do not seem to be attracting guests these last couple of months.
I am posting a couple of articles, have updated the become a member page, I have added our QR code for registering for a meeting, add keywords ... not quite sure but thank you for the observation. :-)
