About one hour ago, around 9:00a.m. JST, I found the Japanese character on the FHT page was collapsed.

Ok, Mike I switched it back... for now. :unsure:

However, for future reference, we are going to need to force everyone to use UTF-8 in the future for character encoding.

The multi-byte encodings cause a lot of headaches for the system, as a number of key code modules, especially for email, do not support any of the multi-byte encodings. These are code modules that were authored by other people and I really do not have the means or time to recreate or update them.

i have changed our list server to use UTF-8, because we recently had a list-server crash due to multi-byte characters, which the DKIM email security module we are using does not support. I really do not want to change our list server back from UTF-8.

How much time would you need to get your content switched to UTF-8 encoding?

Thank you for switching back your system.
We are using FTH editor. I checked the charset of our FTH page and found it uses utf-8 as follows:
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
