I searched FTH forums and online, to no avail. Could you provide the latest club usage statistics? The home page has been stuck on 10,000 clubs for years: support.toastmastersclubs.org/home.

If possible, I'm most interested in how many US clubs utilize FTH2 as their primary club management tool. By this I mean instead of posting a static webpage for visitor information, how many clubs use all the built-in features? Our club has since FTH2 rollout, but I would like more data to convince newly chartered clubs.

Thanks for quick response Brian. Based on your stats, does that imply only 35-43% use the Membership Management functions because club members must be accurate for Agendas and Dues functions? Now I'm curious how many clubs make extra effort to create custom public pages like ours: Guest & Joining Info, About our Club, Pay Dues, New Member Orientation.

Thoughts?

Wow, you have more data than I'll ever need. My interesting takeaways are:

Update club # to alias 62% -- I expected higher because this is easy and free.
Custom domain only 8% -- I switched our club to custom, the process is cumbersome so I understand why this is so low. An easier alternative is for club to redirect the custom domain to their clubalias.toastmastersclubs.org, but they would miss out on custom email lists.
Map info 59% -- This seems low to me, a simple address works for some but a map is better for me.
Custom web page 50% -- Opportunity here to add club specific information for guests, new members, etc.
Meeting agenda < 60 days 36% -- For a scattered club membership like ours, this is the #1 reason to use FTH. Members can log in from anywhere to find latest agendas for the next four meetings. We avoid spreadsheet tracking and paper signups. Two-thirds of clubs aren't utilizing this!
Dues invoice 35% -- This feature makes dues renewals much easier, two-thirds of clubs are missing out.
Membership Management -- I don't see any key stats, but we use this extensively to track Guest > Member > Former Member. Otherwise the agendas, dues and distribution lists would be a mess.

Overall, I'm surprised how few clubs are using the core functions. Keep up the great work, maybe others will begin incorporating soon.

I really cannot recommend doing a redirect from a custom domain name. You will will also lose out on automated https support with that approach. We will not issue ssl certs (for https) for domains set up that way... we cannot as the cert verification step will fail from our cert issuer. (Let's Encrypt)

It is important to support https access... Google is going to start adjusting search rankings for to account for https support. webmasters.googleblog.com/2014/08/https-as-ranking-signal.html

I have looked into ways to automate the setup of DNS records for custom domains. However, the available methods are really geared to those who have their own name servers, such as registrars. We do not have our own name servers, so we are left with trying to document a technical, cumbersome process. I am fine with that... It is just unrealistic to expect that every club will implement all the most advanced, most technical approaches. We try to do what we can to make everything easy, but there are limits to what we can do.
