This is one of the GDPR / privacy updates.

The GDPR regulations establish the right for a person to be "forgotten" by a system. This essentially means that their personal information gets deleted from the system and cannot be un-deleted.

I have now added a feature to do that. Maybe someone no longer wants to be a member of a particular Toastmasters club or they want to leave Toastmasters altogether. They can opt to delete their personal information from the system. Any meeting roles that the person took in the past will show up as "Deleted Member" for their name.

This function is available as a button at the bottom of the Basic Information tab in the Member Profile. It is only available to members via their own member login... Admins cannot invoke this function... the button is grayed out for admins.

What the member sees via their login:

What an Admin sees via their admin login (accessing the member profile via Membership Mgt):

Note that there is a confirmation prompt to make sure someone really wants to do this and handle mistaken button clicks. The word DELETE must be typed in (like for agenda deletes) to confirm that the member really wants to be "forgotten".

BTW, if anyone wants to test this out, I suggest creating a dummy member and login for that dummy member that you can use to be "forgotten".
