I tried to add me as a member of Toastmasters Club 6059734 - Hornell YMCA Toastmasters

I deleted and then CAREFULLY added my information and clicked save ONCE. No email arrived after several minutes. Now I have been in my home club Speak Up Toastmasters 8182 for many years and not sure if that matters.

NO EMAIL ADDRESS admin message when email was entered 5 years 10 months ago #69354

[Sorry I meant to add this to the other similarly-named thread where the NO EMAIL ADDRESS email is being discussed. Not sure how to move it now. support.toastmastersclubs.org/2011-10-23...nagement-must-opt-in]

I am Sergeant at Arms of my club, logged in as both a member and admin, using Chrome browser.

I added a test user with email and phone number via the boxes at the top of the table, picture attached. (It is a test email address I will delete soon.) The member appears in the list with email and phone number in strike-out as expected. Several seconds later, the admin email address received the message below. Note that the message has no member-specific info (name or email or phone). No email was received by the "member" email address asking then to confirm.

I've tried with with a couple of test users with variations on email and phone number – they have all resulted in the NO EMAIL ADDRESS message to the admin. I've also tried adding a test user via the Quick Add with the same result.

Let me know if I can test anything or help any way.

And my motivation came from your posts.

I also just added a new member but the member is unable to get in. It seems to be an error.

The new member needs to look for an opt-in email in their in box. They have to click the AGREE link in it to allow you to add them to the website. This is now required due do new privacy regulations that FTH is being expected to comply with.

They will not be able to do anything with website until they click the link in the Opt-in email.

FYI - I activated everyone that was added on Thursday 5/24. (so no worries) That is fine, since the compliance deadline is 5/25.

I was able to add a new test member, agreed to info storage and usage, and was able to log in and perform member actions.
