1. To the best of my knowledge, you cannot change the background color of the entire page, just the background color of the text and the color of the text.

2. The floater message only appears again if you have deleted your cache between sessions.

1. I can change the text color in the custom webpage editor. For some reason I am not able to change the backgound color ffom white.

Actually there is a way to do this, but it is a bit tricky using the visual page editor:
1. Select all elements (text, images, etc.) for the page inside the visual page editor.
     (In order to change the background color for the whole page.)

2. Click on the Create Div Container button in the editor. It is in the middle of the buttons.

3. Click on the Advanced tab and type in something like the following in the Style field:
border: 2px solid rgb(242, 242, 255); width: 100%; height: 100%; background-color: rgb(242, 242, 255);
Change the colors and dimensions to suit your taste.

Here is the tricky part... You will find that the visual editor does not work really well with this type of element that extends over the whole page and is behind other elements. Sometimes when you click to select an element on the page to format it, the editor thinks you want to select the background instead. Also, you will notice other editor quirks related to this when you start scrolling the editor contents.

Because of the editor quirks with this, I recommend only putting this into a web page *after* you have gotten everything else the way you want it. (Put the background in last.) Also, if you need to edit a page containing a background, then I suggest right clicking on the background, select Edit Div, copy/paste from the Style field to Notepad or some other "holding spot", then Cancel the Edit Div, then right click, and click on Remove Div. This way, you don't have the background in the way of editing the page, and you have what you need to put it back in after you are done editing the page.

If you don't want to deal with the editor quirks, then you will have to put the <div> in via the Source view.

As you can probably see, this is not for the faint of heart. :ohmy:

However, if you want to see it actually implemented, here is one of my club website pages with a background: I use backgrounds on several of my club's webpages. B)

As you can see, it still puts a bit of a white border around the background that I have not been able to figure out how to get rid of.

Thanks Steve for the very interesting tricky stuff ! . It sure is not for the faint of heart. I belong to this group. I don't think I can try this! May be later. But your club website is really great and contains quite a few things one should follow as guidance while setting up their club websites.
