I was trying to setup our new domain. I wanted to change:
cambridgecitycommunicators.toastmastersclubs.org/

to

www.cambridgecitycommunicators.co.uk

I changed the URL and now the website has dissapeared and just redirects to freetoasthost!

Help is urgently needed!

Try it now... you had the http stuff in the domain name setting in the Admin Console.

Also, I reviewed your DNS settings and they do not seem to be correct. For example, you do not have any MX records which means that the FreeToastHost email features will not be available to you via your custom domain name.

Relevant docs: support.toastmastersclubs.org/domain-set...r-various-registrars

Your website is alive and well at 1205233.toastmastersclubs.org

Edit: the custom domain name is now working from here.

I am using 123Reg which is very big in the UK but unfortunately is not included in the ToastHost docs. I have put the following info in the fields on 123reg. Do I need something different? Thank you for such a speedy reply!

* A 50.19.253.65
@ A 50.19.253.65
@ MX 20 mx1.123-reg.co.uk.

Thank you for that I will try it now.

My Club president has just noticed that cambridgecitycommunicators.toastmastersclubs.org no longer works. Is it possible to setup a redirect to cambridgecitycommunicators.co.uk ?

if you changed the alias on the club settings page then the old alias will not work.

It looks like you cleared the alias field.

I did unfortunately before realising that there wasn't a redirect. I tried putting it back in but for some reason after saving it takes out all the full stops and will not work.

Is there any work around for this as many of our printed materials have the address on it?

Just put cambridgecitycommunicators back in the alias field. it will point to the same site as your custom domain.

It is a pretty looooooong website alias. ;)
Generally, we recommend that those be short like the club numbers so they do not defeat the purpose of having them in the first place.
