Hi team

I administer several FTH2 websites and have noticed that events have jumped a day from the end of September. This applies particularly to weekly meetings e.g. club 8649 meets on Wednesdays but from 28 September onwards it is shown as meeting on Thursday.

We do have daylight saving starting 2:00am Sunday 24 September (NZST), but I have never noticed this having an effect in the past.

Any idea what is going on?

Ok, I just tested adding a weekly recurring event on your calendar starting before the day difference happens.

Long story short, I am not able to reproduce what you are seeing, so unless you can tell us specifically how to reproduce it, I have to presume this is just a case of someone creating a new sequence on the wrong day.

I've added a test event to club 5316066, and I'm not seeing any change of day. The same applies to club meetings - they are all on the same day of the week.

I'm in the same timezone.

I added a new event to One Hour Club (one of Kingsley's clubs) and it's not changing the day when Daylight Saving time begins. An existing event does change the day at that time.

To me, that suggests that there's something odd happening with a local PC rather than the website.

Hi Steve

I just added a second test event to the 8649 club calendar. It follows the same pattern as the regular club meeting event. I added it by going back to the beginning of August and creating a weekly recurring event.

I have noted that the same thing is happening with other club calendars also, including ones I don't administer. I see the effect on multiple devices, not all mine, using multiple wi-fi connections.

Curiouser and curiouser

I've just tried a few more tests. Here's what I'm seeing (on 5316066 website):

If I add a weekly event from early/mid August, it will jump to the following day when Daylight Saving begins, if it's a full day event (i.e. no time of day involved). If I add it in the one-day or weekly calendar, and thus give it a time duration, it doesn't jump.

However, I see some events on other clubs' calendars jumping to the next day, even if they do have a time duration. :?

Hi,
I'm seeing some of my reoccurring events jumping a day too.

Our meetings are on every 2nd Tuesday, so I added my first meeting on 12th of September, with reoccurring fortnightly.

However, now all the meetings up until April 2018 have moved to Monday!
I deleted all and tired again, and after I went back in after a few minutes they have moved again! Very frustrating!

thanks,
Dara

Hi

When I look at Dara's calendar the September club meetings are shown as Wednesday 13 & 27. From October they are on Tuesdays until April 2018 when they go back to Wednesday! Timezone settings screwing things up, maybe?

I've done a test and discovered that the event still shows as beginning an hour earlier once Daylight Saving begins.

HI
Just noticed last night (with last edit to page being 19th September (so this change has occurred within the last week) that all dates entered have altered by going to one day previous, We meet every second Monday and they all, for all previous years as well, now show we have always met on sundays - no idea why this has occurred.
Have done a check for viruses on my computer - nil threat found.
As this is now more than one freetoast website that is listed on this forum as suffering from this - can we please make this a priority to find a resolution?
That would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime I shall attempt to manually change the dates for September and October.
If you could please keep me posted on how you intend and when to fix this i would be very happy as don't want to offend potential new members if they turn up on the wrong day of the week.

An update has been made to the calendar code.

This update may not correct the calendar times for agendas created after 10/1 (or thereabouts). You can either edit each of those agendas w/ the pencil button (in the dated agendas module) and save them to force the calendar entries to be corrected, or you can wait a bit for me to come up with a bulk update. (It may take me a week or two to come up with the buik update.)

Hi, I am trying to post an event to the club calendar for March 2018; the meeting date shows properly, but when I try to create an event as "admin" for March 17, it keeps posting that event to March 16.

This calendar thing may be related to weekends. I just tried to post something as "admin" to Monday, April 30, and it posted it on Sunday April 29 instead.

I am experiencing the same thing with the weekend event posting backward one day. Logged in as Admin for two different clubs with the same result.

I think this is fixed now. Please confirm. Your existing events with this issue were not changed... you will need to recreate them. They will be fine then.

It was not related to weekends, it was related to all day events, those that were created by simply clicking in a calendar square without start and end times specified. The calendar library update handles these differently and I had to adjust my code to account for that.

I tried to create an event and first it jumped to the following day, then to ALL DAY; dragging it to the desired time just caused it to jump again , toggling back and forth between the two days. toastnotables.toastmastersclubs.org/calendar.html

Thank you for your efforts to resolve this issue. I have been back to my club 8649 calendar and recreated our weekly meeting event and all seems well now.
I did notice that when deleting the unwanted events the "this event plus all of the occurences of this event AFTER this event" button only removed the AFTER events. I had to make a second pass to remove THIS event.
Thanks again

Just now I was able to remove the 'jumpy' calendar posting and create a normal one in its place. (I took the precaution this time of logging out, clearing the cookies from toastmastersclubs.org, and exiting the browser.)
