I have a member that cannot remember his password. To complicate matters he no longer has access to the email he used to log into the site. So the normal password reset tool doesn't work. As the administrator of the site is there anyway to manually reset his password so he can log in?

As administrator, you can change his email. Then he can reset the password.

When I try to edit his profile I get the message: Admin Edits are DISABLED by the member. Is there another place I can go?

You should be able to go to Membership Management and change the email address that's displayed in the listing. There should be no need to go to the member's profile.

Is there a similar workaround for setting a member's mentor when they have disabled ADMIN updates?

There is more than one way to skin a cat.

The site admin or anyone with access to Membership Management can make the assignment using the Assign Member Mentors tool.
This can also be done by the person who handles mentor/mentee requests (assigned in the Email and contact forms module)

Thanks for the ideas. I always forget how many things are available under Membership Management. I've put the list on my bulletin board and an item on the calendar to review them once a month. thanks again!
