I'm trying to change my custom domain from octoaster.com to sharkmasters.org. I get the attached data submission error every time. I tried it in IE and Chrome so far. Both browsers give me the same error.

It looks as though you created a website name in another name... You cannot change that here... If you want to change the name, you need to go to the domain in which you created it and delete that one and pay for another domain under the new name.

We already bought another domain name and I found a work around for the issue so I'm OK now. In case you want to share it here it is. If you have an existing domain that you are forwarding your site to and want to change it you need to first delete the existing domain in the admin console and save it. After that go back to your site using the http://[club number].toastmasterclubs.org. Once there login is admin, navigate back to the basic setting and add your new domain.

You can close the case.

Thanks!

John

Your new domain is not set up to allow you to use FTH email addresses based on your domain name. Did you intend that?

(No MX or mail A record in your DNS records.)

I have this MX record:

MX 10 mail.sharkmasters.org (Priority: 1) 1 Hour

Is that not correct?

It is not showing up for me via dig . What domain is that record tied to?

I can see the A record for mail.sharkmasters.org but not the MX for sharkmasters.org

Ok, you have a number of CNAMES in there that you do not need and will likely cause some problems.

Regarding the MX record, I am not entirely sure what is going on with that. I think we should ask Brian to weigh in on this.

Brian, I am not seeing the MX record for this domain via dig web interface. Can you confirm or disprove that? Any ideas?

You have NO MX record correctly defined.

I believe you have the 10 and the "mail.sharkmasters.org" reversed

Hi Brian,

Not sure what we're trying to fix. My mail is working fine. I just sent a test to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and they both worked. I can't reverse the order because it doesn't work that way. See the pictures below. I also cleaned up the domain a bit. There is a picture of that as well.

Everything seems to be working as expected.

John

This is a case of "current results do not guarantee future success". Your last screen shot is currently indicating an error (the red) and clearly indicates that what should be entered for "points to" should be a domain address, not a number.

Please do as Brian is directing you so you do not have future issues. We have lots of experience with this... you will be happier in the long run if you trust our experience.

OK, I made that change to the MX record.

Appreciate the extra effort on your end to make sure I don't shoot myself in the foot!
