Sorry guys,
I have another question, this time around Menu ordering.
Am I correct in assuming that the menu position number in the custom pages only applies to position of custom pages within the menu.
When trying to build a logical order of menu items and placing the 'Welcome from Club Present' in position 2 for example
Home
Welcome from Club President
...
....
The 'Welcome from Club Present' falls into second position of a Custom pages cluster - half way down the menu structure rather than in second position overall. It doesn't seem to take into account the non custom pages.
Anyway around this other than building all custom pages.

The way around this for now, is to copy the current URLs into custom pages, placing them in the order you want (1 link per page) and then turn off all of the links in the admin console under the Apperance tab.

There is the "Menu Position #" when you create a page or link. use this in ordering your pages.
Please read the documentation on this site.

Thanks for the response Brian,
Yes I had read the documentation and also searched for other information on the forum.
The information regarding Menu numbering. Is quite specific in the documentation and applies to custom pages only and does not take into account those pages that are not considered a custom pages, i.e the home page. Using the menuing number system does not place a custom page at the top of the menu it places it at the top of custom pages only in the menu list which means that could be half way down the menu.
The menu position # is accessible only on custom pages.

Eric,
Our workaround is what I suggested prior to Brian's. Copy the URL of the pages in the menu into a custom page that be used as a link, 1 page per lonk Assign that custom page a number. Use a technique I used to use in FORTRAN coding of numbering your pages by 5s or 10s so you can insert others in between later.
One you have the custom links built, turn off the regular links on the Appearance tab.

Eric,
Please carefully consider what Brian and RogerM are advising you of.
Using the technique that Roger is mentioning, you can have any page be the second item in the menu if you wish. The only thing you cannot replace or relocate in the Main (Public) Menu is the Home Page Link.
