Would someone kindly describe to me the first login by a new member?

Hello. I hope that you are well and enjoying life in general.

Once in a while I encounter a new member who asks me how to sign up for a speech or a role. Probably I should distribute a description of how to get into the club's site for brand-new members.

But I don't remember my first time, and directions are useless if they aren't perfectly accurate.

Would someone kindly describe to me the first login by a new member? What will the screen say when he or she wants to log in, what does he have to do, and what will happen when he does it?

People tend to be vague and cursory about describing things like this and I want to make it foolproof. And of course, correct, which instructions frequently are not.

Thank you kindly.

Thanks! But....

I want to go before that, to the very first moment that the new club member sees the page.

Well now, that's exactly the kind of ambiguous instruction that I'm trying to remedy in this project.

Pretend how? Enter a wrong password? Leave the field blank? Enter "I forgot my password"?

I tried leaving the field blank and it went through an email routine that might be what you're referring to. But I would imagine that the procedure for a new member to establish himself would be much friendlier, not to mention more obvious.
