VP PR not getting facebook recovery password

The vppr@manoticktoastmasters.org is not getting any facebook recovery messages.

Any non-member can sent to the vppr email address but for some reason messages generated by facebook are rejected.

I tried a facebook recovery password on my personal facebook page and I do get the recovery email.

Is there a way on our Free Toast site where I can de-activate spam filtering completely to effectively allow any kind of email traffic through on a temporary basis so that I can get the facebook recovery email?

We are not going to kill our spam filter.

However, you can try whitelisting and you can up your spam threshold... that may help.

I have added the following whitelist entry:

@facebook.com,@facebookmail.com,security@facebook.com,security@facebookmail.com

I sent 2 facebook account password resets to the vppr alias within the last 2 hours. Not getting any email. I had a non member send a message to the vppr@manoticktoastmasters.org and no problems. Odd I am not getting the facebook messages.

I am not sure if the emails from facebook are being rejected. Is there a way at your end to check the e-mail log of incoming emails traffic destined to the manoticktoastmasters.org domain? Is it a domain configuration issue with respect how email traffic is handled and what should show in the nslookup on our domain in terms of a correct email configuration?

I've had a look at the email logs.

I notice that earlier in January, several times outmail.facebook.com managed to get itself onto a spam-blocklist. But I see no signs of that in the last week or so.

Around 25 January there are several entries like this:
Code:
SUCCESS (User Email) Wed 2017/01/25 01:14:21 UTC Club:[8684] From:[security@facebookmail.com ()] To:[vppr@manoticktoastmasters.org>kentspott@<redacted>] CC:[] Subject:[Getting back onto Facebook] SUCCESS (User Email) Wed 2017/01/25 01:34:03 UTC Club:[8684] From:[security@facebookmail.com ()] To:[vppr@manoticktoastmasters.org>kentspott@<redacted>]] CC:[] Subject:[xxxxx is your Facebook account recovery code] SUCCESS (User Email) Wed 2017/01/25 01:55:46 UTC Club:[8684] From:[security@facebookmail.com ()] To:[vppr@manoticktoastmasters.org>kentspott@<redacted>]] CC:[] Subject:[Facebook password reset]

Email isn't my strong suit, but to me this looks like the emails are leaving the FTH server and getting tangled up somewhere else. Maybe talk to your email provider?

I just sent about 8 facebook pasword resets. Can you query the email log from 12:05am to 12:15am with today's date (Feb 2).

Ok, got the cause... Your custom domain DNS records are not set up correctly for FTH email.

viewdns.info/dnsrecord/?domain=www.manoticktoastmasters.org

No MX record and no mail A record... (so no FTH email for custom domain)

You need to have whoever set up the custom domain fix that via the registrar's website. Not something we can do for you.
