Correcting new member email ID before member has accepted the opt in email

Hi everyone,

Is there a way to edit an incorrectly entered email ID of a new member before they have accepted the opt-in email and set up their login?

I tried deleting the member first and re-add same member with their correct email ID except the system would not allow that.

Any suggestions or work around for the above issue?

Brian,

Thank you for your prompt response. Sorry about the delay in my response. I was awaiting clarifications internally in our club.

The incorrect email ID entered for the new member, Nicole Plein, was nipleain@dhtitle.Com Her correct email ID is nipleain@dhititle.Com Notice the ‘I’ after “dh” was missing.

The system allowed me to remove the new member while it is in the pending state (with her name showing as stroked out). However, when I tried entering her name again with the correct email ID, a message popped up stating this member already exists and repopulated her name with the incorrect email ID.

Would you be able to purge her name out completely from the backend thereby allowing me to re-enter her name with her correct email ID?

I simply inserted the missing "i" in the email address (and assumed the "a" in Pleain was a typo in your request.  I've resent the opt-in request.  Please follow up with the member to make sure she has received it.

Thank you, Pam. Good job!

Arising out of this experience, would the development team be able to implement two enhancements:

1. An error message should appear when a club admin enters an invalid email ID for a new member reading like “Invalid email ID. Re-submit with valid email ID”.

For the above, there will be a need to to Introduce an email validation background process.

In my current situation, I got a “Sucess..” message though an invalid email ID was entered.

2. As an immediate work around, implement capability for admins to be able to edit email ID even before the new member has accepted the opt in email and setup their login. While the new member name is in the strike through status.

The above should help reduce similar support requests from others.

Both of these features are in place

1. I've just tested adding a bad email address - the error message came up:

You have errors in your form below. Please scroll down and correct the following:

  1. Invalid/Non-functioning E-mail: pam@synergos.com.au (No advertised SMTP servers are accepting mail.)

 I'm not sure how your bad email passed the checker.
By the way, there is an email checker tool in the drop down list - you can check all or any email address on your lists (it takes some time)

2.  As I said in my previous post, all I did was type in the extra letter in the scratched out address, whilst logged in as an admin
