Variables in Email Template

I am checking, I used to be able to add Variables to my emails that I sent from FTH.   I don't see that option any more.   Is this still a feature.

I see the variable pull down at the bottom right of the text box.
Variables are in the format.

I think you're choosing to send an email using a button that gives you the option to send via the website emailer 
Try using the "send basic email" option from the dropdown list in Membership Management to use the variables
