I am trying to copy and paste a document so that it becomes part of the evaluator description. The source document has a gray-blue background that I am unable to remove using the roller icon. I don't see the pallet icon either. Is there something else I should be doing to remove the background?

Depends on what you are pasting into.
simplest way is to copy and paste into notepad they copy and paste into your document.
