Pathways Report Card Level 1 Requirements Error

Hello,

I'll start by saying thank you for building the new FreeToastHost Website! It has a lot of very useful functionality and is a great improvement over the old version.

I noticed a discrepancy between how FreeToastHost interprets the Pathways Requirements vs what is in Pathways on BaseCamp for level 1.

Discrepancy #1: Evaluation and Feedback
FTH lists 3 required speeches under evaluation and feedback, whereas in the Pathways checklist, only 2 speeches are required, and the third one is optional. Please see the attached document from Pathways titled: "introduction-to-vocal-variety-and-body-language-project-checklist.pdf"

Discrepancy #2: Intro to Body Language and Vocal Variety
FTH lists 3 required speeches for the "Intro to Body Language and Vocal Variety", whereas Pathways requires only 1 speech.
FTH has the three required speeches as: (i) "Intro to Body Language and Vocal Variety", (ii) "Intro to Vocal Variety Only"; and (iii)"Intro to Vocal Variety Only".
In Pathways, speakers are only required to deliver one of the three speeches, but are not required to do all three. The speaker is allowed to choose what they would like the evaluator to focus on: "Decide the focus of your evaluation. You can select vocal variety, body language, or both."

Evaluation & Feedback has 3 compulsory parts: 2 speeches and an evaluation. The evaluation portion has an evaluation form which must be completed by a club member. In order to access the evaluation form it has to be entered as a speech project in FTH4. If the member uses the evaluation form from basecamp they'll get credit for the evaluator role.

The 3 options for Intro to Body Language and Vocal Variety are listed as "electives" on the FTH4 Report Card. They are listed separately as the vocal variety option has a different evaluation form. Only one is required. Whichever one is chosen will complete the project

Hi Pam,
Thanks for getting back to me. When I expand the details for level 1 in the pathways report card I see that the appropriate speeches are identified as electives. But, somehow, the tool is considering those electives as required speeches to complete level 1. In the screen shot below from my report card, you can see where I've highlighted with the purple box that the tool requires 8 projects and 3 roles. When the details of level 1 are expanded, you can see that the necessary projects for level 1 have all been completed, 3 electives have not, and yet level 1 is not showing up as completed.

In contrast, when I look at level 3 (see screen shot), it has only 3 project requirements, and still lists 14 electives. In the expanded drop down you can see that 12 of the electives have not been completed, but that level 3 is showing up as complete (as it should be).

I think the level 3 treatment of electives is correct, and that the level 1 treatment of electives is not.

Ask your VPE to give you the credit for Evaluation & Feedback #3 (that is the evaluation speech). Or they can go back to one of your evaluations and change it to a speech project (E&F#3)

I see that an evaluation has been credited to you. I realise it seems to be double-dipping, but FTH doesn't know that your evaluation was evaluated unless that project is marked done. That is the only outstanding 'project' for your L1 award.
You shouldn't have to complete the two other two electives for BL&VV, only one is required
