Hi,

How can I get a trial / testing website for toastmaster? I'm part of a club that already have the website. I'm in the process of being the webmaster for that site.

Is there a testing website that I can use before working on club site?

We do not give trial or test websites.

Please read all the documentation provided here

Since a separate testing ground is not available, here are some techniques I've used to experiment without much visibility to current members or officers. Please let me know if there is a better list somewhere; I haven't found one. I inform officers of my testing sessions in advance — in case some random email or other effect sneaks through my shields.
  • Create some test members (they're free!). Start each first name with A or Z so they're easy to find for deletion once you're done. Include
TEST-MEMBER (or some such) in the name in case any activity about them leaks out. Use Gmail "plus" emails so you get all associated emails.

  • Create test agendas in the far past or far future... depends on what you want to test.
  • Create test agenda templates from existing ones (with obvious TEST names so you experiment only on yourself.)
  • Create Custom Web Pages with Unlisted Access (available only via link).
  • File Manager: put test files in a custom test folder for easy deletion
  • Dues Management/Mentor functions: use your Z-TESTMEMBER members.
  • admin and officer roles: This one is tougher. I ask the person if it's ok that I assume their position (e.g. make myself Treasurer) for a Testing Evening, and try to by very careful. And always remember to switch back to the real member!
