BTW, just a clarification. With the new dedicated db table, each email template is now stored in its own individual record in the table as opposed to being lumped together with all the others for a club.

I tweaked this a little bit. Now there is a checkbox (checked by default) in the Save Template dialog that allows you to save or not save the email subject in the template. When you load the template, it will only load the subject if it is not blank in the template. This gives you the option of having it either way... saving the email subject in the template or not saving it.
