Automate New Member Welcome Emails

Per Circe Denyer, DTM of D52 (my district), it would be a good idea to just automate the sending of new member welcome emails. For example, when a new member is added to the Member list in Membership Management, then just automatically send a new member welcome email.

I tend to agree (but would need some sort of confirmation e.g., "Also send welcome email?"), so I am posting this here to get some comments and so I will not forget it. ;)

Steve,

I agree that it would be a nice option, but keep it as an option, in case there is a mistake in the name or email address of the new member.

Steve,

I think it would be a good option to have the welcome automatically sent. Could this option also apply if we change a "Visitor" to a "Member"? Thanks for all the improvements you've been adding.

I would love this option! It's really tedious to have to remember to send it manually and to find the member after adding him.

If it's convenient for you I think one of the options can be a "send automatically when new member is added" in the "welcome email" tab, I don't think it is needed a confirmation every time we add a member, in many websites this is an automatic procedure and it's an option in the settings page

thank you for considering this, I really look forward to it

We are wary of automating too many things without some manual confirmations and/or approvals. So even if we did something like this, there would still be some sort of confirmation involved to ensure that there is some "human oversight" and that the system is not going off the rails.
