Hi Brian
the evaluators you can see are actually the table topic evaluators. If you look at the speech#1 on meeting one it lists peter supernak as the speaker but he is actually the speech evaluator!
I will look at the cookies now.

The problem is the titles are both the same the system only sees speech #1

Prepared speech #1
Prepared speech #2

Evaluator prepared speech #1
Evaluator prepared speech #1

You need to put either and underline or   between the words Speech and Prepared (ie. Prepared_speech #1)

Hello Brian, sorry to butt in here but Linda and I have been working through this and I am totally confused....

I assume if we have agenda items Speech#1 Speech#2

Then the system would allow us to have agenda items Evaluator Speech#1 and Evaluator Speech#2 ??

Pretty standard TM requirement I would have thought.....We don't really mind what we call each segment we just want segments slots for 3 speakers and also 3 evaluators for those speakers

Could you please show me what you would type to achieve this? (Big Letters and non joined up writing please :) )

Cheers

No. The issue has to do with how the system currently interprets numbered roles.

First you need to have a space between the # and the word to the left of it for it be recognized as a numbered role.

Second, the system looks only at the single word immediately to the left of the # to determine how to group the role title with other numbered role titles.

So... for example, from the way the system interprets numbered role titles, Evaluator Speech #1 is equivalent to Speech #1. It does not matter that the word Evaluator is there, since it is not considered.

However, the trick to deal with this this is to realize that the system is looking at words based on the spaces between them. Therefore, if you instead compare Evaluator_Speech #1 and Speech #1, those are different roles, because of the underscore used instead of the space. Alternately, you can use a non-breaking space (Alt-255 on keyboard) which looks exactly like a normal space but is treated like a word character instead of a space. For example. Evaluator Speech #1 contains a non-breaking space between Evaluator and Speech (I put it there trust me) so from the systems perspective, the single "word" to the left of the #1 is Evaluator Speech.

I will probably make this work a lot simpler later this year (I did not program this myself).

hello Steve,

Thank you for a very detailed explanation; it all begins to make sense especially when read with your recent post on a similar topic.

Problem hopefully solved

Thanks again
