Help - our website has disappeared!

We changed our club name last month and let our domain name Parksidetoastmasters.com , through godaddy.com, expire. We used to have it pointed to toastmasters.club. org for our freetoashost2 site.

I went into freetoasthost , launched administrative console, and removed the parkside toastmasters, comdomain name - (from whatever that column on the right says. - can't remember now since I can't access the site)

Then I entered in our new name (the column on the left). Auburneveningtoastmasters.@toastmastersclubs.org. On March 27th I changed the name on Freetoasthoast2 site to Auburneveningtm.toastmastersclubs.org. Both times I changed things on the TI website.

It was working fine. The last time I checked the site was two weeks ago. Now it has disappeared! Any ideas? Could it be something with the domain that expired on April 9th? I don't think I went into godaddy.com to change the DNS servers, but I changed things by logging in as admin on freetoasthost. So I would think the godaddy account wouldn't affect it.

I would appreciate any help I can get. This website was customized, had extensive member resources, and had lots of wonderful information. I'd hate to lose it! Thanks in advance for your support.

You can always access your club by using the club number: Try xxxx.toastmastersclubs.org where xxxx is your club number.

Once there enter your new name as the alias (just the club name, e.g. Auburneveningtoastmasters) and make sure to click save.

The TI settings won't affect your access, but they will point to your club website when someone tries to access it via Find-A-Club. It is safest to use your web address with the number there - that can always be reached, even if the name is changed.

The alias that I see entered is auburnevening, which means that you would use auburnevening.toastmastersclubs.org to access it.

As Pam mentions, you can always use your club number to access your FTH website.

Please put your club number(s) in your Forum signature to expedite getting support in these forums. See the link in my forum signature for how to do that.

Thanks so much Pam. Was able to access it by club number. Whew!

I am wondering if it's because I originally entered auburneveningtoastmasters.toastmastersclubs.org. The site was up for about a week or so and members complained that the URL was too long.

So I logged in as administrator and changed it to auburneveningtm.toastmasterclubs.org. Is that not allowed? I didn't think it had to be the exact name, but perhaps I was mistaken.

I also logged into club central and updated on the TI website when I I made changes.
Trying to figure out why this happened.

Thanks Steve. And thanks for noting the alias that you see entered. I forgot that I changed it to Auburnevening and that our email address is auburneveningtm. I have been swamped and haven't logged in two weeks.

Appreciate the help!

"and that our email address is auburneveningtm"

Huh? :? Not if you are using a website alias instead of a custom domain. If you are using an alias you have to use your club number in email addresses.
