Hi,

We have created our own club youtube channel. On it we are uploading videos for our club members. We have also uploaded a video to promote our club and membership. I would like to add an annotation to the video on YouTube, basically adding a hyperlink in the video viewers can click on that will lead them back to our club website. in order to do this YouTube must be able to verify that we own the site. There are several ways to do this, but I have had no luck with any. YouTube calls this having an associate site linked to your youtube account.

could you please help? Thanks!

Replied by Brad Smith on topic YouTube - Verification To Add Annotations
The YouTube verification process is about proving legit channel ownership rather than where videos are embedded. This is done within the YouTube site.

Try this, log into your YouTube account.

In the upper-right corner click your user icon, then click the gear icon in the pop-out.

Now you're in the 'Overview' area of your account.

Toward the bottom is 'Additional features'. Click 'view additional features'.

If your account is not verified you'll see a 'verify' link. Click it and follow the steps.

Hi Brad,

Thank you for your reply. Our site is actually already verified. What I need to be able to do is found on this page:

www.google.com/webmasters/verification/v...ager&tid=recommended

So basically it is being able to make this change on our hosting site which I do not have access to...I don't think. There is an alternate method, and this requires imbedding code into your site, but I have not had any success yet. Maybe you can advise here if the first option does not work.

www.google.com/webmasters/verification/v...anager&tid=alternate

Thanks for you time and effort into this. :)

All google verification uses the same meta tag. enter the meta tag google gave you into the box.
"Google Webmaster Tools Meta Tag" in the admin console

Oh My goodness...thank you so much. I have struggled with this one for hours. I was putting the code in the wrong spot and kept trying all sort of other ways.

Thank You! :woohoo:
