Replies to "Contact Us" Form Not Sent Back to Originator or Contacts

Dear FTH Support,

Thank you for helping to provide a practical & easy to use platform for our website.

Since about the last month, we have experienced some difficulty with the "Contact Us" facility on the website. Prior to this, when enquiry emails were received & we used "Reply All" to respond, the email was automatically sent back to the originator & to our Contacts who are designated in the website settings.

Recently, although we still successfully receive the enquiry emails, the response emails are not being automatically returned to the originator & Contacts who are designated in the website settings. The return address shown in the "To" field of the response email is simply <server@toastmastersclubs.org> without any reference to our club number & without the originator's email address. An example of an email from the "Contact Us" form is attached for reference showing the non-specific return address.

The same phenomenon has occurred recently in a second club that I belong to. I have checked the FTH "Contact Us" email settings in both websites & they appear to be correct.

I am using Windows 10 Pro & Mozilla Firefox to send & receive emails.

Could you please advise if a setting change is required to restore the automatic reply function for the response emails?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Regards,

[strike]Paul, there is nothing wrong. What you are missing in the attachment is the Reply-To setting of the email which is not always immediately visible in emails.

Reply-To is used extensively because many clubs, particularly corporate clubs expect a consistent From address so that it can be white listed.

If you click the Reply button in your email in the attachment, you should notice that the email that is presented to you to send has the correct reply addresses filled into the To address. Reply-To overrides the From... you do not see it until you click the Reply button.

For you to really understand what is happening with email processed by the system, you need to look at the raw email headers. help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN22026.html [/strike]

Steve, I've just done a test of this. My reply box is empty - I'm using Outlook 2013

Thank you for the quick replies Steve & Pam.

I now understand that the raw email headers need to be viewed to be sure of the Reply-To setting.

To clarify further, I have now actually replied to the enquiry email and inspected the raw header, an excerpt of which is attached to this post.

The recipient address in the raw header still shows only <server@toastmastersclubs.org> so there seems to still be no sign of the "Contact Us" originator's email address.
