Receiving spam emails from FTH "server"

Yesterday a 8:35pm (PDT) I began receiving spam emails from what appears to be the "server@toastmastersclubs.org" to both the primary and secondary email addresses on my Club profile (and to the club officer address, though the sender names don't match any member we've ever had.

I've warned my Club about it. I've not replied to the email, nor clicked on any link. This is the first time in over 8 years that this has happened. It's possible that someone's just spoofing the sending address, though.

Has the FTH database been hacked?

Do you have some suggestions?

Thanks for your support.

The spoofing is more likely.

Simple way to sort this out....

Click reply, but do not send the reply. When you do this, look for the email address that shows up in the "To" box. That is who you should probably add to your club email blacklist in the Email and Contact Forms module of the Admin Console.

If you do not have the "Is this SPAM?" links enabled, I would recommend enabling those, as that simplifies this process for you.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your suggestions. I've started adding the address to the black-list. So far, they are all of the form: xxx@yyy.icu

I appreciate the help.

I think that other clubs may also be getting these, so you might benefit from also enabling the Crowd Sourced Blacklist. You would just need to be sure that some other club is not blacklisting an email address (check the list first and add exceptions if needed) that your club needs.
