I have been trying to log in to my club's web site (North Grenville) for the first time. My name has been entered on the members' list by our admin and it appears in the drop down box. The instructions tell me to press on the Authenticate/Login box at the bottom of the window and an email will be sent to me to complete my registration to the site. When I do this, I get the following error message:

"You have errors in your form below. Please scroll down and correct the following: You must select your name from the displayed drop down list for the login to be accepted. Start typing your name or e-mail, then select your name from the list. If your name does not appear, then the admin has not entered your contact information into this website yet".

My admin and I have tried several times to resolve this problem, with no success. He's removed and reentered my name, but this hasn't helped.

I hope you can help.

Thank you.

I have moved your support request to a separate topic thread so that we can limit confusion and keep all the replies straight for everyone involved. Please start a new topic thread in future support requests rather than just adding onto an existing one.

As a start, we really need your club number as everything in the system is organized by club number. We cannot provide any support without your club number.

New and prospective members are wary of the generic "opt in" email that is sent to them. This needs to be more user friendly as there is much spam out there and it often is perceived to be malicious and ignored.

We've tried educating our prospects to anticipate getting the opt in and they still ignore it. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM esp when we are trying to grow the club.

We are about to abandon Free Toast Host altogether and pay for a real website and do everything via meet-up and facebook.

Doesnt any other club have this problem? I can't imagine that just our prospects are doing this...

Your club needs to adapt to the new reality of laws on privacy, we do not have a choice.
You need to instruct your guest, prospects, new members on what to expect.
