Has anyone tried using FTH 3 with any of the alternative browsers that are available?

e.g.: Brave, Vivaldi, Waterfox, Midori, Maxthon, etc.

I am particularly interested if anyone has had experience trying Brave w/ FTH 3. I am thinking it probably does not work as FTH3 needs to use cookies to work, and Brave's selling point is privacy including ditching cookies.

We keep a list of browsers that we believe FTH 3 works with, so it would be good to update the list if anyone has had a good experience using any of the above w/ FTH 3.

I personally have never heard of any of those browsers. Are they new?

Hi,
No luck with Brave because I can't log in. When I click Member Login button, nothing happens (busy spinner image going indefinitely).
Attached is my Browser console output.

I think most of these are new or a new spin on existing browsers (e.g. Waterfox is 64-bit version of Firefox).

Ok, thanks... I suspected that would be the case.

I get the impression that quite a number of the alternative browsers are variants of Chrome, or at least built on it.

I didn't keep any records, but I did try various browsers with FTH at one time, and from what I can recall, the main issue was whether the browser will run javascript. If it won't ... then of course it's useless. Plus of course cookies need to be enabled, but I think even the ancient text-only browsers will allow those.

Midori (Linux version) seems to work, but the normal login screen won't display my name if I enter four or more characters. I have to enter my full email address and password to be able to login.

I use Brave. No issues for me. I have also used the DuckDuckGo browser on my phone. No issues there either.

I use Waterfox 2019.12 (64-bit). Sometimes the FreeToastHost club url is blocked. Once I add an exception, all Club websites become available. One size fits all. I did not notice whether the block was a security block or a privacy block. Once I allowed the exception, I could not test on any other Club websites, else I would provide screen capture of error message.

I have used Waterfox since FTH 2.0.

I have been using Opera for about 2 years and I have never noticed any issues with the FTH sites. It behaves the same as Chrome.
I use Samsung Internet on my phone an other than "finding" the cookies notification, I have had not issues.

You are able to log in to FTH using Brave? I am able to view the site just fine, but unable to login with Brave.

Are you getting an error? What happens exactly? Have you tried turning off plugins? Turned off shields? It works for me with shields and I have had no issues with any plugins. But, this might help point to where the problem is. Also, I am on Windows 10. I don't think that should make a difference.

I've been using Brave exclusively (Windows 10-64bit), for at least 6 weeks for editing our club website. Login no problem. No problem using a scrolling text bar. All editing user friendly. I like it.

I couldn't add this to the Alternative Browsers thread as it has been locked.

FTH works fine in normal and private browser modes but times out using Tor private browsing mode i.e. the page fails to load due to taking too long.
