In the Membership Management section, I accidentally added around 30 prospects to the Member page! I'm unable to move them out of the Member section until they opt-in. I don't want to delete and start all over again, because it took me around 45 min just to add them all in. How do I move them before they opt-in?
Thanks!

You don't.

You have 2 choices wait for them to accept or delete and re-add.

Thanks, Brian. Do you know if this has already been added to the Suggested Improvements thread? I tried searching the topic before I posted the original question in the main search box, but it didn't bring up anything related.

When you add a person to a list an email is sent out to that person, they expect to be added to that list.

We cannot be expect to cover every error one of 300,00 members can create.

I see. Although a good work around would be to send a new auto-generated email for any update. Previous auto-generated emails would be null and the most current one would be the actual status. I'll submit this as a suggestion just in case. ;)

I initially tried batch adding members, but I got an error message. I didn't copy/paste from a spreadsheet but instead manually added everyone in the format:
First Last email
First Last email
First Last email

I added a space between the names and email according to the instructions, but I received an error message. Should I have added two spaces? I have no idea why it didn't work, which is why I added everyone one at a time. I'll try to batch add them again and see what happens...

When you copy and paste from a spread sheet as instructed, it is not a blank between fields, but a tab.

These are the instructions from the Quick Add page:
"Simply enter each person's name followed by their e-mail address (optional), then phone number (optional, each part separated by a space. One entry per line. Example: William Patonkis, DTM This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. 212-555-1234."

I followed these exact instructions. Why does a tab work (from a spreadsheet) and not a space?

Hi,
Following up again about my question. Can you let me know why entering a batch of names and emails manually separated by a space and on one line each (per the instructions) did not work?

Because you must pay attention and choose which list (from the drop down) to send the information to. By default, the drop-down is set to the Members List. It is likely you did not change the drop-down to the correct list. The software can only do so much hand-holding. :pinch:

I know you must be frustrated dealing with new people making the same mistakes over and over, but keep in mind that humans make mistakes. It seems so simple to you, but all I see is a busy page with way too much going on.

With that said, you are answering a question that Brian already answered. What I would like to understand is "why doesn't manually adding multiple names and email addresses separated by a space and on one line each (per the instructions) not work?" According to Brian, if they're copy/pasted from an Excel spreadsheet, then the system adds a tab between the name and emails. Why does a tab work and not a space per the instruction on the Quick Add tab?

I would have to see the actual Excel file to know.... you could any number of things in there that could mangle the parsing.
