Our SEO for Bethlehem Toastmasters remain poor. A simple Google search for, say, "Toastmasters near Albany, NY" doesn't even list us. I've been using the   FTH SEO doc , plus additional steps. Actions I've taken so far:
  1. Added relevant (I think) keywords throughout our site
  2. Inserted meta tags for Google and Bing
  3. Registered our specific Club as a non-profit on Google
It's admittedly frustrating. I welcome any insight.

With SEO text is king.
I see no text on your home page that even mentions Albany N.Y.
Just because you put something in a meta tag it is meaningless without text to back it up.
Try something like "Bethlehem Toastmasters serving Albany NY, etc ...."
None of your images have alt text, great place to put details "Ben receiving ...... at the Bethlehem Toastmasters meeting near Albany NY"

Your pages must have text that people search for in order to find your club and I hate to tell you but the word "toastmasters" is not it. Sell what you provide, who you are, how you do it, when you do it, remember W5 plus H. Don't bury key information in a paragraph.

This tag line is meaningless "=18pxBethlehem Toastmasters is one of the Capital District's most vibrant public speaking clubs."
"Capital District" there are 50 in the USA plus Washington DC.
