Our website shows club emails in the format "members@eastsidetoastmasters.net". In reality, we need to use members-
6500@toastmastersclubs.org. How can we change the email addresses to show the correct ones on the club email page?

That is because it is using your domain name.

Launch Admin Console, in the dropdown, click on Email & Contact forms. In the email settings tab, scroll down and enter an email prefix.

As Roger notes it is because you are using a custom domain name.

However, the reason you are having to use the club number version of the email addresses to send email is that the DNS records are not set up correctly for your custom domain name. Specifically, the DNS records are not set up correctly to allow you to send email using the displayed email addresses.

Whoever set up your custom domain, did not set it up correctly to be able to be used with email.

The MX (mail exchanger) records are incorrect and there is no A record to allow use of the domain with email.

Thanks, Steve and Roger. Is there a way to correct what was done wrong in the set-up?

I’ve been able to send mail by using, for example, members-6500@toastmastersclubs.org. If we can’t fix the way the site was set up, is there a way to change the website to show the email addresses in this format rather than members@eastsidetoastmasters.net?

The email address format is tied to whether there is a custom domain in use.

You probably need to correct your custom domain DNS settings or stop using the custom domain and remove it from the admin console.

To correct the DNS settings, the person that set up your custom domain will need to correct them using the document I referenced above. You should be able to get the DNS records corrected if you can determine who set up the custom domain and figure out what the proper login information is for the custom domain registrar's website (GoDaddy).

Registrar is GoDaddy... we have specific instructions for them...

Thanks. I'll check with others in the club who may be able to do this. I didn't set up the domain name and I believe the person who did is no longer in the club.
