Lori,

I think I have this sorted out. I made a change to the logic--removed the signup check box dependency for speech details display. Could you please assist me by testing it out?

If so, please test display of speech details for past roles and future speaking roles and member access vs Toastmaster access. These are all cases that the logic is supposed to handle. (It is why it is convoluted.) Speech details for past roles are supposed to be read only except for the admin and VPE. (member and meeting Toastmaster cannot change speech details for past roles)

Here are my test results:
1. I logged in as Admin and first thing I noticed is beside speaker, now it says “login as member to sign up’
2. I assigned myself as the speaker for the Oct 26th meeting. I noticed while ‘editing meeting agendas’, that for the speaker role, all 3 options were checked off: this is a role for which members can sign up; this is a speech and this role should appear on the printed agenda
3. Logged off as Admin and Logged on as a member --- I was assigned the speaker and could edit speaker details. Logged off as me.
4. Logged in as Admin and removed myself as speaker, logged out
5. Logged in as me and noticed that now Speaker #1 said SIGN UP (under the Member column). So I clicked on it and it automatically inserted my name. Then I logged out [I did not select update meeting notes] but when I logged back in I saw that I was still assigned as the speaker.
6. Logged in as Admin and made myself the chairperson. Then edited the agenda and assigned Brad as the speaker. He was able to edit the speaker role.
7. Logged in as Admin and viewed the Sept 8 meeting role. It appeared as normal with the “---“ appearing under the Member column (which to our club means unassigned as we do not use Sign Up option. This is how it would normally appear if we no speaker assigned). Assigned myself as Chairperson for that past meeting. Speaker role still showed as “---“ in the member column (as per normal for our club)
8. Logged out as Admin and logged in as myself to view that agenda and speaker role still appeared as “---“ under the member column. I assigned myself as the speaker >>>>> I COULD NOT EDIT THE SPEAKER DETAILS.
9. Still logged in as me (the chairperson) I went to ‘edit the meeting agenda’ and Edited the Speaker Role. Scrolled down to the bottom and checked the box that said “this is a role for which members can sign up” (as this boxed was not checked off because our club does not use this option). Nothing changed: I WAS STILL NOT ABLE TO EDIT THE SPEAKER DETAILS and I was Assigned as the speaker.
10. Then I went and removed myself from the Speaker Role and then the Member column displayed “Agenda Locked to Members”
11. Logged off as me and logged on as Admin to view the Sept 8 agenda. The Speaker role still displayed “Agenda Locked to Members”

Thanks,

Lori

That sounds correct. Members and meeting toastmasters cannot edit speech details for past meetings... That is per design. (Can be edited by admin and vpe though.)
