9555 - Can we use the 'custom group' feature as the common email address for PATHWAYS?
I created a custom group called 'pathways' and included President, VPE and Secretary. Is there an email address associated with this and would it be pathways-9555@toastmastersclubs.org?

thank you very much!

While you are welcome to do that, it will just be a custom group like any other custom group and not tied to any special Base Camp or Pathways functionality. You will also have to contend with the fact that it will not be available to the public unless it only contains one "member" and the "One member custom groups are public" setting is enabled.

As far as the system is concerned a "Pathways" group is not needed for Base Camp notifications, because we already handle those via the contact-#### and officer aliases (president/vpe/vpm/vppr/treasurer/secretary/saa - ####) addresses.

I do not understand how 'it is already handled' PATHWAYS notifications are sent to the club contact on file although I only see that one email address can be inserted as Club Contact. I was suggesting that this newly created email could be that club contact although you say it is not public. please point me or explain "already handled....

thank you!

Actually, WHQ has already been told. I was Pathways Chief Ambassador for my district and I went through the Guides training.

I told them already about this. However, as FTH is not produced by WHQ, they are sometimes a bit hesitant to reference any FTH features. (I am guessing that they do not want to take any responsibility for it.)

Bottom Line: Don't ask WHQ about features that may or may not be in FTH... It is unlikely that you will get a credible, informed answer.
