Some of our members are also members in other TM clubs. Consequently, we get guests from those other clubs on a regular basis. Many of these guests are willing to take on roles at our meetings.

Is there any way for the TMoD, or the Administrator, to assign the roles to guests? (We have them in our membership list with the status of guest.)

Only active members can be scheduled for roles.

That said you can create a member called GUEST and schedule that member for any guest filled role

That was the work around I came up with too for both the clubs I'm a member of (TAC TM and FCCJ TM). In fact, I input our regular guests as GUEST-FirstLastName This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Then, assign them as a member so they can sign up for roles or be assigned roles.

One negative to this is that all guests - even if they are "one time guests" from another club - have to input into the members' list then removed - extra work for the admin.

Another negative is that guests get all emails sent to members if we use the mail to members function.

Does TMI have plans to enable the ability to assign roles to members who are assigned the designation of "Guest"?

Thank you.

Joe,

An alternative is to only have a Guest, but have the Toastmaster, VPEd or the Admin use the speech title area for the name and speech title.

Like: Joe Peters -- My Icebreaker

Also, you do not have to have an email address in membership management, which would prevent them from receiving emails.

TMI has nothing to do with that. They do not develop the system, we (me) do. We have discussed different approaches for the guest in a meeting role thing... do not have a clear best approach yet.

If you think something should be added, then post a suggestion in the improvement suggestions section.
