This question is for Leadership 28 Toastmasters, Club 2481227. I've created a google groups online forum for this club and happened across google's instructions to embed in a website. I followed them and created a page in the members only section.

Before we start using this I wanted to check and be sure it won't cause any problem with the functioning of our site, and be sure it is permissible to do this. Just learning the ins and outs of the google groups and am not even sure this will work as I think it may. It would be convenient to access through the website unless it causes some unexpected problems. Any advice or instructions for me. Thanks.

It will probably be fine (it is OK), but you may want to post the embed code you were likely given here so we can take a look at it just to be sure. If you do post it here, be sure to select the embed code, then click the code icon in the message toolbar (the one with the <> on it) to ensure it comes through ok as a forum message.

Hi Steve,

Below is the code that I used. I hope it comes through as you need it.

Here is the page in google help with their instructions

support.google.com/groups/answer/1191206?hl=en

<p><iframe frameborder="0" height="700" id="forum_embed" scrolling="no" src="javascript:void(0)" width="900"></iframe><script type="text/javascript">
 document.getElementById("forum_embed").src =
  "https://groups.google.com/forum/embed/?place=forum/leadership28tm" +
  "&showsearch=true&showpopout=true&parenturl=" +
  encodeURIComponent(window.location.href);
</script></p>
I don't know much HTML but would like to adjust the frame because some of the text doesn't fit on the web page. Can you tell me if I can do this with this code, and if so, what to change.

Thanks

This should be fine. You will need to insert it in the website editor's Source View though for it to work properly. Click on the editor Source button at upper left its tool bar, then copy paste this in place where you want it, then click the Source button again to switch view back.

You should be able to adjust the height and width with those settings (height="700" currently and width="900" currently) and can enable scroll bars by changing the scrolling="no" to scrolling="yes".

Thanks so much. I changed the scrolling to "yes" and that works. I may experiment a little with the width setting, but then again, maybe not. It works, so why try to fix it. :P
