Replies to the Agenda, sent from the Agenda page on the website, are marked to go the the Ed VP and the Toastmaster. For the past 2-3 meetings, the replies from the members have gone only to the Ed VP. We cannot seem to get them to the TM.

Have you changed the setting recently? Right now it is marked to go to Officers & Toastmaster.

I hope this is a reply to the person shown below me (Pam). Yes, I changed the setting. I thought that if we used a different setting for a week or two, and then went back to what we really want, we might have "shaken up the system" and "made it work." Sort of a "Reset" when "Reset" was not available.

How many people are replying - is it more than one person? Can you give us a recent date on which the VPE received a reply and the Toastmaster didn't?, and the first name of the person who sent the reply.

If it is only one sender that is not getting through to the TM, is it possible that they are sending an email to the VPE without actually replying to the original email?

Hoping this box at the top is the reply to the question that was previously at the bottom.

Between Jan 17 and Jan 19, I received ZERO (0) replies to the Agenda I sent out. The Ed VP received 3 that I know of. I sent the agenda out again by first sending it to myself, and then forwarding it (through FTH2) to the Club. Those who did a simple Reply to it (I know of 2) did not get through to me. Those who put my address directly into their message and did not send it through the website, did get through to me.

The three that the EVP received were from Sharon F, Lisa C, and one other that I can't find in my saved emails. If it's critical, I may be able to figure out the third one from the changes I made to the Agenda.

Let me know . . . but . . . right now, I'm going to bed. I don't understand modern technology, and it's really too bad that nobody else is willing to try to learn FTH2. No matter what other questions you have, I have really told you all I know.

I see the emails that were sent by Sharon & James F and two from Lisa went to your VPE and Eric (who was listed as the Chairperson on that Agenda). From my understanding the FTH considers Chairperson or Toastmaster to be the "Toastmaster" for email purposes - most clubs use one or the other. As you had both, and Chairperson was first on the agenda, he won!

Steve might need to butt in here - I'm making a slightly educated guess.

I see a few of your agendas seem to follow the same format. Have your agenda emails been going to the Toastmaster and not the Chairperson in the past?

The code looks for the following text patterns in the following order to find the toastmaster:

"ROLE like '*Toastmaster%' order by ASEQUENCE",
"ROLE like '%Toastmaster%' order by ASEQUENCE",
"ROLE like '%Contestmaster%' order by ASEQUENCE",
"ROLE like '%Chair%' order by ASEQUENCE"

"order by ASEQUENCE" just means sort the db records by the agenda sequence order. % is a text wildcard and will match one or more of any characters. As soon as the TM is found the above search stops.

1. I don't know how to read code, but in line 1, is it proper that Toastmaster is bracketed by * and % [i.e., different symbols], while all other rows have % and % [i.e., duplicate symbols]?

2. The code that puts the symbols (icons) at the top of the Agenda page knows how to find the word. If I am not Toastmaster, no pencil appears; if I am Toastmaster, the pencil symbol does appear. [And yes, I turned off my role as System Administrator to test that out.]

3. From an earlier email there was a question how long ago this problem of not notifying the Toastmaster started. I don't know. To have a Luddite like me as System Administrator is to admit that nobody in our Club is tech-savvy at all. Certainly there were times during the Fall when we noticed that somebody's Reply had gotten lost. And the week before Jan 14, I began to suspect something was wrong when I asked a question in the Reply, and didn't get an answer. For the week before Jan 21, when I was Toastmaster, I asked the Ed VP to forward to me every message that had anything to do with the meeting; and I asked another friend to send things to me both through the FTH2 distribution system, and through an email address that I haven't entered into FTH2. From this, I was able to conclude that no replies to the Agenda (via FTH2) came through to me. That's when I thought I had better look and see if anyone else had the problem. Seeing none, I opened up this ticket.

% is a text wildcard (can be anything)... it is correct it will match either *Toastmaster* or *Toastmaster* of the Day for example

I write the code, so I know how it works.

I had written a response, but it disappeared on me when I tried to correct "boxed" to "boxes." Here's the essence:

1. I did check SPAM and JUNK boxes while observing this issue.

2. To get more people involved, I have changed the "Reply" distribution to Officers + Toastmaster.

3. I even have slim hopes that changing the distribution will "reset" something somewhere, and end up solving the problem

4. I went to my profile, and below my name is my Club number (5086) and name (FACCMasters). I couldn't find a place where I was supposed to add those items.
